The latest Blackbit bundle in the Pimcore Marketplace allows you to access external databases and map the data in your your Pimcore Reports.
This innovative product adds another useful feature to your master data management via Pimcore: With the new bundle, you can access external databases in Pimcore reports. For this purpose an additional user-definedreport type 'External Database' under the 'Custom Reports' section of your Pimcore backend. The feature supports all SQL-based databases supported by PHP Data Objects. Among them for example:
- MySQL
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- MSSQL
- ODBC
- and other
Easy query of external databases
Since database vendors use different SQL dialects for some SQL functions, this bundle includes a simple text field for entering enter your SQL query. For example, this allows you to use LIMIT for MySQL or ROWNUM for Oracle. Furthermore it allows it the execution of complex statements with subSelects, Unions etc.
All this is possible with the standard SQL report adapter that comes with
Pimcore is delivered, only with difficulty or at all not possible.
In combination with the Pimcore Data Director Bundle there is also the possibility to not only display data from external databases, but to import them directly into Pimcore.
