Mariia is responsible for quality assurance at the Kyiv site. In our joint interview, she tells us about her job, how she came to Blackbit and much more.
Hello Mariia! You've been with Blackbit since January - have you settled in well with the team? And for those who don't work with you every day: What should we know about you?
Maybe that I lead a colorful life with many different hobbies alongside my work. And also that family plays an important role in my life. I am very grateful to be part of such a large and wonderful family. I also love animals and support animal shelters financially. And yes: I've now settled in very well and feel comfortable in the team.
That sounds great and we're glad to hear it. How did you find your way to Blackbit?
Through the Ukrainian platform Djinni.co - that's where I first came into contact with Blackbit. You know what that led to 😊
How would you describe your work at Blackbit?
In quality control at Blackbit, I ensure software quality through careful test planning and execution. My daily tasks include reviewing clearly defined requirements, performing manual tests and collaborating with the development team. My biggest challenge at Blackbit is adapting to the fast pace of agile development and ensuring thorough testing within tight deadlines. This challenges me on a daily basis, but also gives me satisfaction every time I successfully complete my tasks.
Clear communication and constant updates on evolving technologies make my job much easier and add a dynamic element to my role that I really appreciate.
What applications do you work with in your daily tasks?
TestMo, BrowserStack and Postman. The user-friendly interface of TestMo and the efficient test case management simplify the testing process and ensure a systematic approach to quality assurance. BrowserStack I use for cross-browser testing, which allows me to test our applications on different browsers and devices. Postman is my tool of choice for API testing as it provides a straightforward platform for creating, executing and automating API requests.
What education do you have? What have you learned and what experience have you already gained before Blackbit?
I have just started my studies, but I have already improved my skills in creating and executing test plans and identifying software errors in other jobs.
What sets you apart?
My meticulous approach to testing.
And what is your biggest weakness?
I love sweets.
Back to your work: you can't do agency work without it?
