Göttingen Tourism and Marketing shines in completely new splendour thanks to the fresh corporate design. From the colourful website goettingen-tourismus.de to the social media presence and offline media such as stationery, posters, flyers and brochures - the new corporate design ensures a dynamic and consistent presence that makes you want to discover the city for yourself. Thanks to the direct service-oriented integration of booking and reservation offers for gastronomy, culture and accommodation, this is no problem.
Blackbit digital Commerce and Göttingen Tourism and Marketing worked closely together and had a lot of fun creating a new functional, cross-media digital concept and a fresh look for the website. The aim of the project: to create the best possible conditions for more successful marketing of the city of Göttingen.
Simply experience Göttingen
Visitors to the website goettingen-tourismus.de will find detailed information on all aspects of visiting the university city in the new clear layout. They can book tickets and reservations for cultural events and events or secure accommodation directly via the platform - thanks to the mobile-first concept in the implementation completely independent of the device used. Whether they are using a laptop, tablet or smartphone, visitors to the site experience an optimised user experience.
Wide range of services: Göttingen is there for everyone
Despite its name, the platform is not only a contact point for tourists, but offers a wide range of information and services to all people in the region. At the same time as the relaunch, Göttingen Tourism and Marketing is launching a content offensive to address visitors and citizens of the city with editorial content that provides information about upcoming events, background information and history, as well as the best tips about Göttingen.
Consistently consistent for the best possible user experience
The colourful design not only reflects the diverse and colourful life in the city, but is also highly functional. This is because it simplifies navigation almost unnoticed in the sense of the best possible user experience: whether "Experience", "Stay", "Meet", "My Göttingen" or "Tourist Info" - each colour clearly identifies one of the thematic content areas.
In the new social media templates for Göttingen Tourism and Marketing and My Göttingen, this clarity continues consistently. Depending on which topic social media posts address, they appear in the colour of the content category and allow the website and social media presence to merge into a whole.
On the outside, on the inside: technical relaunch
Blackbit implemented the new website of Göttingen Tourism and Marketing on the basis of the open source system WordPress, since it can be expanded without great effort and, as a CMS, simplifies the work of the Göttingen Tourism team immensely in terms of content maintenance. For this purpose, Blackbit redesigned the homepage, all overview and content pages, content types, the menu and UI elements such as forms that are integrated into booking and reservation processes.
Open Data for the Plus in Service
Technically, the service offer is made possible through the automation of content from third-party sites and the connection to the destination.one platform. Open data from hoteliers, restaurants, events and other offers are imported from destination.one via a specially created interface and displayed on goettingen-tourismus.de.
Joint implementation
With Blackbit, Göttingen Tourism and Marketing deliberately chose an agency with the necessary expertise to ensure that the technical and functional relaunch and the creation of a new corporate design, which unites all channels of customer contact and external presentation, come from a single source. As an agency from Göttingen, it was of course a pleasure for Blackbit to stage their own favourite city as lively and colourful as it is.
In the close exchange with each other and in the goal-oriented implementation, the project teams of Göttingen Tourism and Marketing and Blackbit quickly developed their own dynamic, which motivated and inspired both sides and, by the way, brought a lot of fun. And you can see that in the result! See for yourself: The new website of Göttingen Tourismus und Marketing has been live since the beginning of October and the social media presences shine in new splendour at the same time.
