Impulsive, curious and tenacious - that best describes our latest addition to the backend team in Kyiv. In this interview, the Shopware specialist explains how he found his way to us and why he loves working in an agency.
Hello Bohdan! Nice of you to take the time for a quick interview. You've been with Blackbit since November 2023. How did you join us? How was your start?
When I was looking for a new job, I came across an interesting job offer on Djinni and immediately found out about Blackbit on Dou. I liked the reviews of the employees and their photos - and after talking to Alexander Strizhakov, my desire to work for Blackbit grew. And it worked out: I have since become part of the Blackbit family and feel very comfortable here.
I'm glad we were able to convince you to join us. And now that you've arrived, how would you describe your work at Blackbit?
Overall, my role at Blackbit is very dynamic and varied, requiring a mix of technical expertise, project management skills and effective communication. As we have many different customers, we often have to face and successfully overcome a wide variety of challenges. Most of the problems I am confronted with offer me the opportunity to develop and improve professionally. Both my personal development and the company benefit from this. I think that's great. 😊
Demanding or not, which applications do you work with in your daily tasks?
PhpStorm in particular, because it is an excellent IDE for PHP development with features such as code completion, debugging and integrated version control. It significantly increases productivity and code quality. Postman, on the other hand, enables simplified API testing with its user-friendly interface and powerful features such as automated tests, collections and environment variables. The app is now simply indispensable for efficient API development. And then there's Guake Terminal, a drop-down terminal for Linux that offers quick access, multiple tabs and customization options at the touch of a button. It streamlines command line tasks and improves workflow efficiency. Without these three applications, I wouldn't be half as efficient in my work.
Yes, because I enjoy challenging tasks and constantly learning, and that happens every day when working in a digital agency. So yes, I really enjoy working in a digital agency and actively looked for it.
What makes you stand out?
I love programming and creating new and useful things. I also enjoy tackling complex problems and solving them successfully. I am also very meticulous when dealing with problems in my private life and don't like to give up if I haven't found the optimal solution.
Do you have a real weakness?
I have a weakness for unhealthy food and have to control myself every day to keep my hands off it.
What is your key learning from everyday life: you can't do agency work without it?
In everyday agency life, I can't do without effective communication, reliable project management tools and a glass of water!
Do you see your job more as a science or an art?
Rather a science!
What's on your desk?
I really appreciate order and cleanliness on my desk. That's why I make sure that everything superfluous disappears: a notepad, a pen and a pair of headphones - that's all I need.
Which app would you never want to do without again?
Google Maps, Telegram and Wallet.
Which three hashtags best describe your job?
#InnovativeSolutions #TeamCollaboration #ContinuousLearning
What do you do when you're in a bad mood?
I go for a walk, listen to music or watch some funny videos.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
Make Yourself.
If you were a plant, what would it be?
I would probably be a bamboo: it is strong, flexible, grows constantly and adapts to a wide variety of environments. It also has a calming aura and can be used in many different ways - just as I strive to be versatile and adaptable.
Last question: What advice would you give your younger self?
Learn foreign languages, play sports and learn something new every day.
It's never too late to start! 😉 Thank you for your time and continue to have fun and success learning and growing.
