Jacob has been an Account Manager at Blackbit in Hamburg since November 2025 - and it's immediately clear that this is exactly the right place for him. He arrives relaxed for the interview, an engaging smile on his face. It's obvious from the first glance: This one is in a good mood - and that mood is immediately transmitted. As he picks up his coffee and nods to his colleagues, it becomes clear that Jacob has arrived and feels right at home.

He actually wanted to work in the music industry. Music still accompanies him, his favorite song "Boredom" by Tyler, The Creator often plays in the background when he is sorting ideas or thinking through projects. He eventually found Blackbit through a recruiter - a leap into the digital world that, looking back, was a perfect fit. "And I'm really glad it turned out that way," he smiles.
The Art of Understandingg
Jacob doesn't have to think long about how he defines his daily work - the answer comes naturally. "For me, the job is a mixture of art and science," he explains and leans back. "The art is in deciphering people's real needs, the science is the tool todevelop resultsthat actually work in practice." For him, technology is not an end in itself, but the basis for translating real requirements into functioning systems.
Customers Benefit From Structure, Creativity and Measurable Impact
For him, projects are far more than just tasks - they are an arrangement that hedesigns piece by piece together with the customer and the team.He ensures that the theoretical planning results in a system that actually works in everyday life. "After a few conversations, it usually quickly becomes clear what really matters." He uses his creative way of thinking for efficient implementation and at the same time pays attention to clear processes in the team - this produces predictable results.
His workplace is like himself: practical, tidy, but not sterile. A water bottle, notepad, laptop and cell phone are at the ready - everything he needs to concentrate on his work. When he talks about projects, he gestures as if he is visualizing ideas. You immediately sense that he takes his customers seriously and is always thinking one step ahead.
Curry, Calisthenics and New Zealand Dreams
Jacob's zest for action doesn't end when he closes his laptop. When he's not training calisthenics or working on new curry recipes to please his girlfriend, he's making plans for his time away from his desk. His thirst for adventure is at least as great as his interest in new client projects.
At the top of his list is a trip to New Zealand. But road trips through Europe, the Northern Lights in Iceland and the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in LA are also firmly on the agenda. Jacob wants to discover the world in all its diversity, from the Milky Way to the outback and the rhythms of Jamaica. For him, these are not distant dreams, but concrete goals.
When asked which famous person he would like to have dinner with one day, he has an immediate answer: it would be Tyler, The Creator - "because he is endlessly creative and I want to understand how that works," explains Jacob. And it is precisely this energy and enthusiasm that he puts into his daily work.
Serenity Meets the Power of Implementation
Jacob is a planner, but not a control freak. His motto: "Take a relaxed approach to change." In his first few months, he has already shown that he is not only a convincing professional. His open, clear way of working ensures that projects run in a structured manner and results remain comprehensible.
